I absolutely hate fluorescent bulbs, and the only lights in my room are fluorescent bulbs. So, while I was parents' house, I picked up some pretty sweet lamps that I had in my old room. For some reason, I'm a huge fan of lamps. When I helped my mom clean out my great-aunt's possession after my great-aunt died, I found some pretty sweet lamps, and those are the lamps that I have put in my room. The light has really softened the room, and now I'm thinking about buying a bookshelf to put my books/DVD's.
I also spent like an hour on the Internet looking at art posters to buy. I saw some pretty sweet Van Gogh prints, but I'm not sure if I want to spend $15 a pop for the prints. I think I might drop by a thrift store and see if anything catches my eye. I guess I could put up some of my artwork, but I have only three or four masterpieces, and one unintentionally looks like Michael Jackson.
Oh yeah, I wanted to mention lullabies, because I love lullabies. (A lullaby came on my iTunes playlist. I'm not this random...) In December of 2006, I got really sick with the flu, pneumonia, and gallstones. I felt horrible. The thing that also sucked was I couldn't sleep well, and all I wanted to do was sleep. So, I searched online for some lullaby music, and I found this ridiculously good lullaby CD. The artist's name is Susie Tallman, and her music is pretty awesome. I slept like a baby that night. (I think the strong medicine I took had a part in that too.) But, if you ever want to hear her music, I'm your man.

Eh....
I listen to way too much music. It's like I'm afraid of silence. I listen to my iTunes on random, and it's gets annoying because I have every Pixies' song, so every fifth or sixth song is a Pixies' song. I do like the Pixies, but I don't like them that much...
I think all blogs should be enjoyed with good music. Sure, I can say I'm listening to "Such Great Heights" by Iron & Wine (which I am), but if you don't know the song, then you can't get the full effect. (Now I'm listening to "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye.)
So, I'm reading Walden by Thoreau, and it's pretty sick. I'm only 30+ pages into it, but I love it. My favorite quotes so far are...
"Birds don't sing in caves."
"I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion."
Reading this book reminds me of how much I love Nature. I really need to go and sleep under the stars soon. I remember after a breakup with a girl, I slept in a hammock outside for like 2 weeks. (Ok, it was probably closer to 1 week.) But, I freaking loved it, although my back was a little sore because the hammock wasn't extremely comfortable. When it gets a little warmer, I definitely plan on camping in the woods.
Eh, I think that's enough for today. (Crap, another Pixies' song is coming out of my speakers...)

Well...
I've created a box to store random memories/thoughts.
I like the concept of a box, because a box holds things. The box's whole purpose is to separate things, i.e. shoe boxes separate shoes from everything else. Boomboxes hold the boom. (Ok, I'm not getting off on the right foot, but at least I'm on my feet.... It's the thought that counts, right? Ok, that's the last cliche I hope to ever put in my box, but I figure I can get away with one. )
Back to the box....
I'm a sucker for nostalgia. And, whenever I find a box with stuff that evokes memories, I get this euphoric "high". Actually, I don't know if that is true, but I'd like to think that I do. So, I created this blog to put random memories/thoughts for nostalgic's sake. At least it should be interesting....
